Site Survey of Khushpur (Happy Land)
On August 9th, 2025, our dedicated team of four conducted a door-to-door survey in Khushpur (commonly known as Happy Land), a predominantly Christian Catholic village. The purpose of this survey was to assess the current water crisis impacting the community.
Team Members:
Edwin Joseph – Project Manager
Shahraze Stephen -Advocate
Imran Bashir – Volunteer
Sunil Paul – Cinematographer
Our team worked collaboratively to design and implement the survey, engaging with the elderly, youth, and children of the village to gather firsthand accounts of the crisis. The findings are deeply concerning:
Multiple deaths have reportedly occurred due to waterborne diseases.
Children are among the most severely affected.
Low-income families rely on contaminated hand pump water, lacking access to safe drinking options.
Those who can afford it must travel to nearby towns to purchase clean water in containers—a costly and unsustainable solution.
The team demonstrated compassion and commitment throughout the mission, showing solidarity with the residents of Khushpur. The heartfelt interactions and testimonials captured during the visit highlight the urgent need for clean drinking water solutions in the area.
In response to this critical situation, our team is actively and consistently searching for a suitable plot of land where a water filtration plant can be installed. This would provide the community with long-term access to clean and safe drinking water—helping to prevent further loss of life and improve public health.
